It was an amazing weekend! Almost a month had passed since my arrival, and I still hadn’t met anyone, except for another exchange student in the same club as me. After all those days of adjusting, attending classes, and gaining new experiences, the moment finally came.

The beginning

My journey began on Friday, September 20th, traveling from Koloveč to Kroměříž, where our first meeting would take place. The trip took around six hours. When we arrived, the first thing we did was have dinner. Since we got there late, we were the only ones eating, while most of the other exchange students were already there. It felt strange—there was this mix of excitement to meet them, but also the feeling of being surrounded by strangers. Eventually, the event took place. We all took our seats, and the introductions began, including the Rotarians, Rotex members, and ourselves. After that, the activities started, and that’s when the real fun began, as I got to know many people from the very first day. When the meeting ended, we headed to our shared rooms.

The garden

The beautiful city of Kroměříž

On Saturday, we woke up around 7:00 a.m., had a big breakfast, and started the day’s activities, which included a language test. Mostly, we had presentations about the rules and the upcoming trips that were planned. In the afternoon, after lunch, we went for a walk around the city. We visited a beautiful garden designed like a labyrinth, some historical landmarks, and the city center. It was a pleasant walk, and I made more friends. Plus, the city is really lovely. When we returned, we had dinner, clarified questions about visas and the paperwork we needed to handle, and then had a small party.

On Sunday, after breakfast, we had more talks about additional rules and recommendations. They gave us the results of the language test, and finally, it was time for goodbyes. After that, I started my journey back home, feeling very happy because it was a wonderful experience and I got to meet everyone. I’m looking forward to our next meeting!
